Abdul has learned a lot about fish and people since he came to the U.S. in 1994 from Nigeria. For seven years he has been at the busy Wilmette store, working his way up from counter service to assistant manager. He enjoys the friendly atmosphere at Burhop’s and the company of his co-workers.
Abdul is a tilapia lover. "It’s really mild, but it also reminds me of my home in Nigeria."
Abdul’s Tasty Tilapia 1-tablespoon olive oil 1-teaspoon rosemary 1 clove garlic Tabasco sauce 2 lb. tilapia, whole with bone in, fins removed and cavity cleaned
Sauté rosemary and garlic in olive oil. Add a little spicy sauce like Tabasco and stir. Add whole tilapia, bones in. Cook approximately 8 minutes per side. Serves two.
